Most people hate getting their photo taken. My clients don’t.

Ready to finally love how you look in photos?

Whatever your reason for being here - I’ve got you covered!

Here’s what I know after 18+ years behind a camera:
The best photos come from people who actually feel good.

That’s not something you can fake, and it’s not something a filter can fix. It comes from working with a photographer who takes the time to actually get to know you before asking you to stand in front of a camera.

I’ve spent my career figuring out how to help people relax, laugh, and stop overthinking… so what ends up in the frame is the real, unguarded version of you. The one your people already know and love.

No stiff poses. No awkward silences. Just good energy and photos that authentically look like you on your best day.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the process or needed things to move at your own pace - that’s something I completely understand.

Let’s hang out & I’ll show you how much fun it can be!

Meet Heidi

I'm not just a photographer, I'm a proud mom of 4 amazing humans, a small business owner, and an active member of my community in the Pacific Northwest town of Napavine, Washington. I’m also someone who has been doing this long enough to know that the session experience matters just as much as the final images.

I’ve been capturing portraits and milestones since 2008, and that first moment a client sees their photo and lights up? It never gets old…

Frequently Asked Questions

  • My photography studio is in Napavine, Washington and I do on-location shoots mainly in Lewis County and the surrounding Southwest Washington area. However, I’m always happy to travel if you have a different location in mind, so let’s talk about it!

  • This varies depending on the session type, location, and my availability, but here’s a general guideline…

Headshots - Individual sessions can often be scheduled within a day or two. Teams or groups are best scheduled at least a week in advance.

High School Seniors- I recommend booking at least a month out. For summer sessions, 2-3 months.

Newborns - I photograph babies around 5–10 days old. If you reach out before your due date, I’ll reserve space on my calendar and we’ll finalize once baby arrives.

Weddings - Summer weekends typically book several months to a year in advance. Off-season dates may have more flexibility, and elopements can sometimes be scheduled on shorter notice.

Families, Branding, and Other Sessions - These vary based on availability, especially if travel is involved. Feel free to reach out and I’ll let you know what’s possible!

  • For seniors, you can book directly through my Seniors page. Just choose an available date, sign the session agreement, and pay your deposit to reserve your spot.

All other sessions - start by submitting a contact form or give me a call so we can discuss details first, then I’ll send you a custom booking link to get you scheduled.

  • Honestly… most people do at first. That’s completely normal. I’ll guide you through it so you don’t have to worry about what to do. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, confident, and actually enjoy the experience! And yes, you might even start to feel like a professional model by the end.

  • Turnaround time varies by session type & by season, but here’s what to expect:

Headshots - typically within 24-48 hours for individuals, sometimes longer for teams or groups, especially if I’m creating a group composite image.

Seniors & Families - I aim for a week or two.

Weddings - depending on the season, but normally within 2-3 weeks.

You’ll receive access to a private online gallery where you can view, select favorites, and download your images. If additional touchups are needed, I’ll have you select your favorites first so I know which ones to work on.

  • Yes! Depending on the situation, sometimes I will remove a distracting element before you even see them. More often than not though - I’ll have you select favorites first, so I know which ones to work on. Headshots are always fully retouched to make sure you look your best in a close-up image.

Examples of touch-ups: Skin smoothing, temporary blemishes, skin tone, stray hairs, distracting background elements, or head swapping in group photos if needed.

I’m not here to change what you look like, just to be sure nothing distract from how great you already are!

  • Absolutely! And I love it when you do. Every gallery comes with a print release & usage permission, which means you’re free to share online, print them, and use them however you’d like for personal use. I just ask that you tag me or give photo credit @heidi_marshall_photography when you share!

  • It’s the Pacific Northwest, so that’s always a valid concern! For outdoor sessions, if the weather truly is unworkable, we’ll reschedule. Light rain or overcast skies can actually make for really beautiful photos, so I’ll always give you my honest opinion on whether we should push through or postpone.

I do like to believe that I have some sort of control in the weather department, since more often than not - it ends up working out perfectly 95% of the time!
